The mission of Foundations School is to identify and impart truth, build character and inspire service.
Our vision is to equip students with the tools needed to be leaders in learning, eager to go in to the world, resisting evil and serving others.
CORE FOUNDATIONS
Faith Foundations:
We teach each student to be able to read and determine how to be independently dependent on God.
Educational Building Blocks
Inspire and challenge each student to take their own education into their hands.
Character Development
Strengthen pillar characteristics such as accountability, trustworthiness, respect, kindness, compassion and citizenship.
Strengthening Families and Communities:
We believe that a strong education leads to confident productive citizens who are mindful of their families and communities around them.
A Beautiful Place To Grow
Bible Based
The Bible part of our program is just that. We teach from the Bible. We do not affiliate with any organization, doctrine or theology, we just teach scripture.
Trade Focused
We are creating a program that will allow our students to have a chance to explore all of the job opportunities that North Idaho has to offer. We offer a skills day that allows students to explore the trades.
Creating the Program
We will challenge our students to be complex thinkers and doers. We have made it part of our mission to exceed all of the Idaho State Standards for Education.
We are:
Foundations School is a non-profit, Bible based, and trade focused K-12 school. We are unique in our ability to meet each individual student where they are and create a learning program for just them. Every student is at a different place of development and knowledge. We value the different learning styles and work diligently to teach every student in a way that they are receptive to retaining the information.
Foundations School is growing by leaps and bounds. We have plans to open two additional classrooms in the fall of 2025 and bring our preschool program out to the school. Foundations School aims to be a light in North Idaho, serving students from Sandpoint all the way up to the border. Starting in the fall of 2025, Foundations school will be able to serve families with children from 5 weeks old all the way up through graduation. We aim to partner with families in growing competent, capable, and God fearing students all the way up to adulthood.

Huge shoutout and thank you to Jorn, Pete, and the crew at SkyRight Roofing and Gutters for hosting Foundations School students for an incredible Skills Day tour of their facility!
They even treated everyone to pizza for lunch before getting started, which the students loved. From there, our students got a behind-the-scenes look at the entire roofing process. Starting with the first contact with a customer, inspecting the roof, understanding what the customer needs, ordering and receiving supplies, and then heading into the shop where materials are cut, shaped, and formed before being installed out in the field by the roofing crew.
The kids absolutely loved seeing all the details that go into the work and learning about the tools, equipment, and teamwork it takes to run a business that is proficient, honest, and reliable.
We are so grateful for businesses in our community that are willing to invest their time and knowledge into the next generation. Thank you again for such a great experience, we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
